SINGAPORE – When I failed a science examination in lower secondary, my parents did not kick up a big fuss and reminded me to keep working at it.

When I continued to struggle with physics and chemistry in upper secondary despite my best efforts, my parents got me the help I needed but continued to remind me about my strengths in language and the humanities.
