SINGAPORE – Mandopop stars Taiwanese-American singer Wang Leehom, Chinese singer Joker Xue, Taiwanese veteran Harlem Yu, Hong Kong diva Joey Yung and local singer Kit Chan are in the line-up for the upcoming third edition of One Love Asia Festival.
Set to take place on Oct 19 and 20 at the Padang, the music festival will feature Wang, Yung, the Taiwan-based boy band W0LF(S) led by Singaporean singer Kenny Khoo, rising Beijing-born, Singaporean soloist Janice Yan and folksy Taiwanese band Bestards on the first night.
The second night will have performances by Xue, Chan, Yu, Chinese singer and reality show Sisters Who Make Waves (2020) alumna Yu Kewei, and Taiwanese hip-hop trio MJ116, which comprise rappers E.so, Kenzy and Muta.
Local acts rapper J.M3 and Tin Box Band will serve as opening acts on the first and second night respectively.
This is the first time the Mandopop music festival will be held at the Padang. The previous editions in 2022 and 2023 were held at Bayfront Event Space. Each act is expected to play a 40-minute set.
Premium and general admission one-day passes will be available via Sistic for $228 and $188 respectively. A premium pass holder will be given access to areas closer to the stage. There are no two-day passes available.
Tickets go on public sale on Sept 6 from 11am. There will also be a priority pre-sale for OCBC cardmembers from Sept 4, 11am, to Sept 5, 11pm.
This is the first time Wang, 48, is performing in Singapore since his ugly divorce from Lee Jinglei. His reputation and career suffered in the wake of the split, as he was accused of multiple affairs. When he made a comeback with two shows at the Taipei Arena in September 2023, he knelt onstage to thank his fans.
Meanwhile, this is the second time in a year that Xue, 41, will be performing in Singapore. The Actor (2015) singer sold out three shows at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from Jan 5 to 7 in 2024.
